August 4th: Blood Management Practices for Optimal Patient Care

Objectives:

  • Describe the forces that are increasing interest in blood management.

  • Review principles of blood management and data-driven transfusion practice.

  • Discuss the therapeutic efficacy and cost effectiveness of transfusion related interventions.

Target Audience: : Internal Medicine, Family Practice, Pediatric Medicine, Pathologist, and all Interested Physicians.

August 11th: In-Patient Diabetes Management

Objectives:

  • Discuss the importance of good glycemic management in the hospital setting.

  • Discuss the best way to manage blood glucose in various settings throughout the hospital.

  • Review various glycemic protocols and selection of an appropriate protocol.

  • Present in depth case reviews of hyper and hypoglycemic management within the hospital.

August 18th: Corporate Compliance for Physician Practices

Objectives:

  • Review the various federal and state laws and initiatives which make corporate compliance essential in the Health care provider setting.

  • Review the essential elements of compliance in a physician practice that the federal Office of Inspector General (OIG) has emphasized.

  • Instructing on the duties of a board of directors and/or leadership to ensure oversight of the provider’s compliance program.

Target Audience: Internal Medicine, Family Practice and all Interested Physicians.
