Midland Memorial Hospital Dedicates Garden in Special Ceremony

The media is invited to attend a special dedication ceremony at Midland Memorial Hospital this Friday, June 26th at 1pm in the area formerly known as the Link Atrium. This area will be renamed and dedicated, The Barbara O’Shaughnessy Garden. During the 1999 Medical Office Building Campaign, the I.A. O’Shaughnessy Foundation was one of the first Foundations to contribute to help match the challenge grant from the Abell-Hanger Foundation. The I.A. O’Shaughnessy Foundation’s generous gift, in honor of Barbara O’Shaughnessy, made this garden and other components of the Medical Office Building possible.

Barbara O’Shaughnessy was elected to the Board of Governors in 1999 and has served the hospital faithfully since then. Besides Midland Memorial Foundation, Barbara and her late husband, Donald, have been wonderful philanthropists in Midland, being extremely involved with St. Ann’s Catholic Church and Midland College.
