Childbirth Education

Childbirth Education Six-Week Class
Fee $30.00 per couple
This class is recommended for first-time parents and covers aspects of labor, delivery, recovery, newborn and postpartum care. Relaxation and breathing techniques are taught, as well as medication options. It also includes a hospital tour, infant CPR, and breastfeeding.
Refresher Class
Fee $15.00 per couple
This two hour class is designed for experienced expectant parents. Labor and delivery is reviewed based on the participants' needs and includes a tour of the BirthPlace.
Teen Childbirth Class
Fee $5.00 per couple
This 5 week class is designed to meet the needs of expectant teen parents. It covers labor and delivery, newborn care, infant CPR and breastfeeding, and a hospital tour. The final class is a wrap-up pizza party.
Sibling Class
Fee $10.00 per family
This one hour class is designed to prepare the big sister or big brother for the new baby's arrival. It includes a video, tour, and hands-on activities.
Infant CPR Class
Fee $5.00 per couple
This one hour class is a lecture and demonstration of basic infant CPR techniques. (no certification offered)
*Breastfeeding Class
Fee $5.00 per couple
This one hour class is taught by certified lactation nurses and covers the basics of breastfeeding.
Tour the BirthPlace
No fee
Pre-registration not required
BirthPlace Tours are conducted the first Mondays of each month (excluding major holidays). The tour begins at 7:00 p.m. in the first floor lobby of Memorial Hospital's West Campus.
