Job Details:

Identifies and codes hospital medical records for the purpose of continuing patient care, reimbursement, and research in accordance with coding and reimbursement guidelines. Codes diagnosis, operations, and procedures using the ICD-9-CM and CPT coding classification systems. Abstracts relevant clinical and demographic information from the medical records using the hospital's abstracting system and in accordance with established policies and procedures. Assists co-worker's with the Department's incoming telephone calls. photocopies pertinent portions of patient records for patients being trasferred to other care facilities. Prefer candidate have two years experience in the Health Information Management Department or related clinical setting and CCS or RHIT Certification.

The base pay for this position is $13.35/hr and is increased based upon applicable experience.
