EDUCATION 2011 |
Basic Class -
This four week class is recommended for all expectant parents and covers labor, delivery, and recovery. The class is designed to help parents feel more knowledgeable and confident about the pregnancy and birth process. It will focus on all the stages of labor- including positioning, breathing, and relaxation for each stage. Cost $30.00/couple.

Teen Childbirth
Education Class - Five week class designed for expectant teen parents. Covers labor and delivery, newborn care, infant CPR and breastfeeding. Cost- $5.00
Classes are on Monday Nights from 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm

Sibling Class-
One hour class on Saturday prepares the big sister or big brother for the new baby’s arrival, and includes video, tour, and hands-on activities. Cost- $10.00/family.

Breastfeeding Class- This 1½ hour class is taught by certified lactation nurses and covers the basics of breastfeeding. It will include getting started in the hospital all the way to pumping and storing breast milk. No charge.

Baby Care/Infant CPR Class - This two hour class covers the basics of baby care with a hands-on approach to help parents feel comfortable with their newborn. Infant CPR and choking first aid will also be taught and practiced. (This is not a certification course.) No charge.
Monday and Tuesday Night Classes are from 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm.

Tour The BirthPlace
Tours of the BirthPlace are conducted on a monthly basis at 7:00 p.m. in the
lobby of Memorial Hospital’s West campus.
First Monday of every month (excluding major holidays.)
Come visit with us to see what we have to offer expectant families.
Pre-registration is not required, children are welcome.
