Job Description

The Residency RN performs essential duties and responsibilities and the primary functions of a Registered Nurse in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the care of assigned patients while being supervised by RN preceptor. The Residency RN is responsible for meeting the established competencies and applicable standards of nursing practice, for managing supplies and equipment under supervision of RN preceptor. Responsibilities for promoting team work with physicians and personnel of other departments including problem solving, dealing with various issues and interpreting a variety of instructions furnished in written and oral form under supervision of RN preceptor. The residency RN will demonstrate growing clinical knowledge and judgment necessary for independent patient care, education and symptom management.

Requirements

  • Current State of Texas License as a Registered Nurse. Bachelor of Science (BSN) Degree in Nursing required. If nurse does not have a BSN upon hire, the nurse must commit to enter a BSN program within two years of employment and complete the BSN program within five years.
