Elected Official, District 2
Dorothea Logan came to the Permian Basin from Dallas when the FDIC office in Midland was closing banks due an oil industry downfall. Now in Midland since 1985, she is employed in the oil and gas industry and has shared layoffs and good times with other Midland residents during the numerous booms and busts since.
She had worked for the Texas Railroad Commission in Corpus Christi covering South Texas gas production accounting out of high school and during college years. She then spent 15 years as a military dependent, living five years in Fairbanks, Alaska working for the Fairbanks Mayor H. A. “Red” Boucher when Prudhoe Bay was discovered. There she experienced another community immediately impacted by changes in the energy industry. She lived in Northern and Southern Japan for seven years, teaching American English with a Texas accent to eager college students and fast-track computer professionals, and lastly a few years in the Washington, D.C. area while her husband worked with the National Security Agency.
Retirement sounds better every day as she and her husband now have 15 grandchildren ranging from ages four months to 24-years-old, not all in our great state of Texas.
Dorothea has resided in the Midland Memorial Hospital District two for the past 15 years. She is a neighbor and friend of Anneliese Hyde, who admirably represented this southeast district for the last 8 years. Dorothea is pleased to represent this district for the next four years.
