Dr. Dent was recognized by Modern Healthcare and Witt/Kieffer as a 2006 Up and Comer in healthcare administration. Bob is Vice President of Patient Care Services and Chief Nurse Executive at Midland Memorial Hospital. Bob is a Fellow with the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE); Board Certified as Advanced Nurse Executive (NEA-BC) with the American Nurses Credentialing Center; a member of the American Organization of Nurse Executives (AONE)/Texas Organization of Nurse Executives (TONE) and is a Certified Executive in Nursing Practice (CENP); the American Nurses Association (ANA)/Texas Nurses Association (TNA); and Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.

Bob has served in professional associations and local advisory boards such as AONEs Strategic Planning Committee, AONEs Nominating Committee; AONEs Professional Practice Policy Committee; TONE Board Member; TONE Membership Committee Chair and TNA Practice Committee Member; local colleges and university. Bob also serves on the Practice Committee of the Texas Team representing West Texas hospitals on this regional action coalition responding to the Institute of Medicines 2010 report on the Future of Nursing.

In his 23-year-career as a nurse, he has been a nursing assistant, licensed vocational nurse (LVN), registered nurse (RN), licensed nursing home administrator and chief nursing officer for small and large organizations. Bob received an Associate’s Degree in Applied Sciences from South Plains Community College in Levelland, Texas; a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN), a Master’s Degree in Business Administration/Health Care Management (MBA/HCM) from the University of Phoenix (classroom), and a Doctor in Nursing Practice (DNP) degree from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. He has been published and has presented on such topics as improving work environments, business planning, staffing and using technology to improve outcomes. He and his wife of more than 23 years have five children ranging from ages 13 to 22.
